Psi Vampires

Definition

Psi vampires are mortals who have a need to feed on the life energy of others to maintain a state of good health. Like Sanguinarians, they do not produce a sufficient amount of pranic or "life" energy, and therefore need to replace this energy by feeding on the energy of others.

Psi vampires are born and awaken around the late stages of puberty. Upon awakening, they go through many mental and physical changes, including an increased sensitivity to sunlight and heat, problems sleeping at night, digestive problems (as their bodies become more tuned to “digest” energy, rather than regular food), an increase of psychic abilities, heightened senses, and for some, increased speed, strength or reflexes.

There are a few different "types" of psi vampires:

Elemental vampires, who feed on elemental energy, such as the energy created during a thunderstorm.

Sexual vampires, who feed on the energy generated by a sex act. (Note: Contrary to popular belief, the succubus and incubus are not sexual vampires. They are in fact a type of demon.)

Emotional vampires, who feed on the emotions of others.

Strengths

Psi vampires tend to have heightened senses and good immune systems when well fed. They also seem to age a lot slower than humans, which may be due to the fact that a psi vampire's internal body temperature is one or two degrees lower than normal.

Weaknesses

Psi vampires have a NEED to feed. Without regular feeding, they will become very sick, and experience stomach cramps, headaches, muscle cramps, irritability, nausea and lethargy. Psi vampires are also sensitive to sunlight on the eyes and skin, though they do not seem to be as sensitive to sunlight as Sanguinarians.

Misconceptions

Some people believe that it is possible to turn a human into a psi vampire by exchanging energy. They believe that if you reverse a psi feed and give them some of your energy, that you can "infect" them. This is only a theory, however, and as far as we know, it is not true.
